The Project’s 26th Operation Coordination Unit Meeting Held

The 26th Operation Coordination Unit Meeting of the “Technical Assistance to Prepare Flood Risk Management Plan for Meriç-Ergene River Basin” project, financed by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye within the scope of Environment and Climate Action Sector Operational Program (IPA-2), was held on May 5, 2025.
Representatives of the General Directorate of Water Management, the Ministry of Environment Urbanization and Climate Change, Delegation of European Union to Türkiye and the contractor company officials attended the meeting chaired by Mr. Satuk Buğra Fındık, Deputy Director General of Water Management, on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the End Recipient.
The meeting was started with the opening speech of Mr. Fındık. Subsequently, a brief presentation was conveyed by Mr. Görkem Önder from the Project Technical Assistance Team, covering the overall progress of the project and presenting the project work plan including upcoming activities.
Following the presentation, a Q&A session was held to exchange ideas on the overall course project. The session addressed ongoing project activities such as the consultation meetings held regularly with stakeholder institutions and the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) concerning the preparation of flood risk maps and mitigation measures, as well as upcoming events like the preparatory work for the International Symposium on Flood Risk Management Plan and Closing Event to be held in the basin in June. Following the suggestions consulted of the relevant representatives, the roadmap was reset in accordance with the actions to be completed by the next monthly meeting. The meeting ended after the Q&A session.
