The 17th Operation Coordination Unit Meeting of the “Technical Assistance to Prepare Flood Risk Management Plan for Meriç-Ergene River Basin” project, financed by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye within the scope of Environment and Climate Action Sector Operational Programme (IPA-2), was held on March 19, 2024.
Representatives of the General Directorate of Water Management, the Ministry of Environment Urbanization and Climate Change and the contractor company officials attended the meeting chaired by Ms. Afire Sever, Director General of Water Management.
The meeting started with the opening speech of Ms. Afire Sever on behalf of the End Recipient, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Directorate General of Water Management (DGWM). Further on, Project Deputy Team Leader Egemen FIRAT conveyed a brief presentation, covering the overall progress of the project along with its challenges overcome since last month’s meeting and touched upon the completed project activities.
Following the presentation, a Q&A session was held to exchange ideas on the overall course project. The session addressed subjects such as upcoming study visits abroad and the modelling outputs as well as the impact of the mentioned procedures on the project’s progress. At the end of the meeting, a roadmap was drawn by refreshing previous targets for outputs and actions to be completed by next month. The meeting ended after the Q&A session.
