The 21st Operation Coordination Unit Meeting of Technical Assistance to Prepare Flood Risk Management Plan for Meriç-Ergene River Basin Project Held

The 21st Operation Coordination Unit Meeting of the “Technical Assistance to Prepare Flood Risk Management Plan for Meriç-Ergene River Basin” project, financed by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye within the scope of Environment and Climate Action Sector Operational Program (IPA-2), was held on October 25, 2024.

Representatives of the General Directorate of Water Management, the Ministry of Environment Urbanization and Climate Change and the contractor company officials attended the meeting chaired by Mr. Mustafa Dal, Head of Flood and Drought Management Department.



The meeting was started with the opening speech of Mr. Dal on behalf of the End Recipient, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Directorate General of Water Management (DGWM). Subsequently, a brief presentation was conveyed by Mr. Görkem Önder from the Project Technical Assistance Team, covering the overall progress of the project and the completion rate of the ongoing project activities.

Following the presentation, a Q&A session was held to exchange ideas on the overall course project. The session addressed subjects such as upcoming study visits abroad and other project outputs. The course and execution of these activities in the continuation of the project were discussed and the views of the relevant representatives were consulted. The roadmap was reset in accordance with the actions to be completed by the next monthly meeting. The meeting ended after the Q&A session.
