THE ELEVENTH OPERATION COORDINATION UNIT MEETING OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO PREPARE FLOOD RISK MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR MERİÇ-ERGENE RIVER BASIN HELD

The 11th Operation Coordination Unit Meeting of the "Technical Assistance for the Preparation of the Meriç-Ergene Basin Flood Risk Management Plan" project, financed by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye within the scope of Environment and Climate Change Sector Operational Programme (IPA-2), was held as a hybrid meeting on 2 June, 2023.
Representatives of the General Directorate of Water Management, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and the contractor company officials attended the meeting chaired by Mr. Maruf ARAS, Deputy Director General Manager of Water Management.
The meeting started with the opening speech of Mr. Maruf ARAS, who spoke on behalf of the End Recipient, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, General Directorate of Water Management (SYGM). After the opening speech, a brief evaluation was made on the issues that were brought to the agenda in the previous meeting.
Because of her assignment to the project as the new contracting authority, Ms. Ayşegül UMUTLU, Contract Expert from the Department of EU Investments, General Directorate of European Union and Foreign Relations, Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change met the team, got information about the activities and provided information about the project.
Afterwards, the Project Technical Assistance Team made a presentation and gave information about the progress of the project and its activities. After the presentation, the attendees exchanged ideas about the progress and outputs of the project in the question-and-answer session, and the meeting ended after the closing speech.
