THE 14th OPERATION COORDINATION UNIT MEETING OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO PREPARE FLOOD RISK MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR MERİÇ-ERGENE RIVER BASIN HELD

The 14th Operation Coordination Unit Meeting of the “Technical Assistance to Prepare Flood Risk Management Plan for Meriç-Ergene River Basin” project, financed by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye within the scope of Environment and Climate Action Sector Operational Programme (IPA-2), was held on October 17, 2023.
Representatives of the General Directorate of Water Management, the Ministry of Environment Urbanization and Climate Change and the contractor company officials attended the meeting chaired by Ms. Afire Sever, Director General of Water Management in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The meeting started with the opening speech of Ms. Sever, who spoke on behalf of the Ministry (End Recipient), General Directorate of Water Management (DGWM).
Further on, Project Deputy Team Leader Egemen FIRAT conveyed the current state of the progress in his presentation, including the project activities. Following the presentation, a question-and-answer session was held to exchange ideas on the progress and outputs of the project. Significant matters regarding future Study Visits and their roadmaps were addressed along with discussions on the outline for the contents of upcoming meetings. The meeting ended after the closing speech of Mr. Maruf Aras, Deputy Director General of Water Management.
